BREWER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- With the public's help, one little boy from Orrington succeeded in making Christmas brighter for a lot of area children.

Eight-year-old Brayden Mott set out to collect 2,012 toys to benefit Toys for Tots in the great Bangor area this Christmas. Last year the second grader netted more than 300 toys for the organization after seeing a TV report on homelesses.

Brayden was able to surpass his goal this year. After setting up a drop box at the Maine Discovery Museum and taking gift card donations he was able to get 2,630 toys for Toys for Tots. He said the hard part after getting all of those donations was finding a place to put them.

"It took up a lot of my room," Brayden said laughing, "my TV...I couldn't even see it...my dad puts up all kinds of baseball stuff and that you couldn't even see."

Brayden dropped of the toys at Toys for Tots last week. Many have already been picked up and distributed by the Bangor Salvation Army. Brayden says already he's looking to raise more toys for next Christmas.
