The White Cane Awareness Walk is an event organized to promote a better understanding of Maine's White Cane Law and to increase public awareness of independent and safe travel for people who use white canes or guide dogs. This year's walk takes place on October 13th. Registration is at 8:30 AM. Walk starts at 9:30 AM.

The Iris Network's mission is to help people who are visually impaired or blind attain independence and community integration. At The Iris Network, we teach the skills a person needs to live with vision loss and maintain an independent and active life at home, at work or in their community.

The day will include a mile walk around Portland that starts and ends at Monument Square. By participating in the Walk, you are raising needed dollars for The Iris Network's programs and every bit counts! All donations are tax deductible.
