FREEPORT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Retailers and restaurants open on christmas day kept busy.
The Wok Inn Chinese restaurant in Portland was steady throughout the day. Employees there said it was good practice for the big business they will do on New Years. The L.L. Bean flagship store in Freeport was also busy. Shoppers were picking out last minute gifts, returning items, and hunting for bargains.
"Little bit of everything," John Koletis of Westbrook said. "We'll see what they have. "There are some pretty good deals here so it's good place to be!"
L.L. Bean says it far exceeded sales expectation for the holiday shopping season. They haven't seen sales this high since 2007.
