FALMOUTH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- While the grass has struggled in the summer heat this year, most weeds have thrived. Those weeds are putting out seeds right now, and that means now is the time to get a handle on them.
Paul Tukey of safelawns.org shows us some environmentally friendly ways to do that. Just click on the video icon to see the whole story.
Paul says weeds are often an indication of soil issues.
If you have moss, you need to add lyme.
If you have other weeds, you should get your soil checked to see what nutrients are missing.
There are several new gadgets to help pick weeds by hand. If that proves too hard, Ortho makes a new product called Eco-sense, which you can spray on weeds. It is all natural, made from iron, and it kills just the weeds not the grass.
