AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Tim Bell wants to hit the ground running as the new leader of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine. Bell is an accomplished government affairs professional with a light hunting and fishing background.
Bell comes to Maine from Florida where he worked for a physicians' organization. Before that, he worked as a legislative assistant in Florida and for an insurance center in Ohio.
Bell is a native of Pennsylvania where he and his two brothers were raised by a single mother. He calls her "my hero" because of her efforts to raise her family, achieve a college education and engage in a career.
Bell's priorities include modernizing SAM's technological capabilities including putting the organization on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. He also expects to use his skills as a lobbyist and fundraiser to help move SAM's agenda forward.
SAM's priorities include increasing the deer herd in Northern Maine, work with the next administration on appointments as well as stabilizing the funding for the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
