Vassalboro, Maine-- (NEWS CENTER) Twelve new game wardens have graduated from Advanced Warden School and been assigned to districts as Maine Game Wardens.

"It's a really good group," Colonel Joel Wilkinson told NEWS CENTER.  He noted that the training for wardens has changed significantly in recent years as user groups in the outdoors have changed.

Hunters, fishermen and trappers once dominated the efforts of the Maine Waden Service.  Now those groups are shrinking and other groups such as hikers, paddlers and bird-watchers are growing fast.
