PHILADELPHIA (NEWS CENTER) -- Brett Brown has lived a basketball life. The son of New England Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Bob Brown, Brett was a star at South Portland and Boston University. He then did some traveling, spending 17 years in Australia. His next move was to San Antonio, where he was an assistant to Greg Popovich widely considered one of the best coaches in the NBA.
Now Brett has been given the job as coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. The team is doing a total rebuild. However, they have a couple of very talented rookies. They may make a trade for a promising center. They also have two high draft picks this year. They also have some cap space. If the pieces fall into place, Philadelphia could return to prominence.
It was great going to Philly to meet Brett. He's an articulate, intelligent, straight-talking guy who is already very well liked in Philadelphia. Here's our interview with Brett.
