PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- For years, the Southern Maine Agency on Aging has been delivering meals on wheels to elderly or disabled people in the community.  This year -- they've expanded to nearly 800 clients a day.

This christmas, about 200 of those said they'd be alone, and would appreciate a warm meal.  Thanks to plenty of volunteer help from the Portland Rotary Club -- delivering those meals would be no problem.

Volunteers and their families delivered door to door some warm ham, sweet potatoes, even apple pie... plus an extra christmas present.

Some have been delivering for years every Christmas and say they appreciate it just as much as those recieving the meals.

This is the 31st year the Rotary Club has joined forces with the Southern Maine Agency on Againg to deliver Christmas meals.

Today's meal was prepared by Jeanie Marshal Foods of Bangor.
