PSO POPS KICK OFF SEASON WITH "LA VIE BOHEME"

"La Vie Boheme" is a brand-new show from Music Director Robert Moody, combining music from Puccini's popular opera La Bohème with the two contemporary retellings it inspired: the Broadway show Rent, and the spectacular film Moulin Rouge.

There are two shows:

    "THE SISTERS ROSENSWEIG" AT PORTLAND STAGE COMPANY

    Nominated for 5 Tony Awards, Wendy Wasserstein's thoughtful and hilarious family drama reunites three Jewish-American sisters in London to celebrate the birthday of the eldest, Sara. Between unexpected chances at love and managing Sara's teenage daughter, the three sisters look to have it all, but can't quite keep from tripping over their family baggage. A captivating portrait of three uncommon women coming to terms with their differences, respect, and love for one another.

    "The Sisters Rosensweig" runs through October 21st at Portland Stage Company.

    WHITE CANE AWARENESS WALK TO BENEFIT IRIS NETWORK

    The White Cane Awareness Walk is an event organized to promote a better understanding of Maine's White Cane Law and to increase public awareness of independent and safe travel for people who use white canes or guide dogs.  This year's walk takes place on October 13th. Registration is at 8:30 AM.  Walk starts at 9:30 AM.

    The Iris Network's mission is to help people who are visually impaired or blind attain independence and community integration. At The Iris Network, we teach the skills a person needs to live with vision loss and maintain an independent and active life at home, at work or in their community.

    The day will include a mile walk around Portland that starts and ends at Monument Square. By participating in the Walk, you are raising needed dollars for The Iris Network's programs and every bit counts! All donations are tax deductible.
