WELLS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Mary Jordan of Wells will be competing at the World Equestrian games in Lexington, Kentucky beginning September 25.  Jordan, who has Multiple Sclerosis will be riding a horse named "Paxton" who was literally born in her arms.

Jordan is the third member of her family to come down with the desease, so she was very familiar with it when she received her diagnosis. "My father had the worst case of MS that you can have," she told NEWS CENTER. "I didn't know if my MS was going to track like my father or be more benign, like my sister."

Jordan just made the twelvmember U. S. team. She is hopeful that she can move up the ladder and become an Olympic Team member in 2012.

Mary found inspiration from her son, who she fears may someday contract the desease, "I thought I'm going to show him what a person with MS can do and my riding really changed and I started riding for a reason.  It was a conduit to pursuing my dream."
