HARRISON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Rick Rand of Harrison used to work during the summer and ice fish in the winter.  "This is a way to make some money from my day dreaming," Rand said as he showed off his premium ice fishing traps.

Rand's Littleman Traps have been catching the attention of serious ice fishermen.  They have a lot of bells and whistles and he works with a variety of woods.  Rand markets his traps at sporstmen shows and ice fishing derbies.  It's not unusual for him to take a bunch of business cards and traps and go around at ice fishing derbies making individual pitches to fishermen.

The most distinguishing characteristic is his z-shaped stand for added stability.  His traps also have two colored flags, reflective tape for Cusk fishermen, drags on the reel and tripper and some are adjustable for snow depth.

He doesn't want to have a factory and make lots of traps.  He wants to remain a "little man" and make customized top-of-the-line traps.

Look for Rick at shows or derbies near you.  You can also call him at 207-583-2843.
