At Harrison Elementary students are learning how to become effective story tellers through a film-making program. 4th Grade Teacher Desiree Merritt heads up the program. Students must create the idea and then write a script. A shoot is then planned and each shot is executed according to the script. The final product is then edited on a laptop and presented to the class. This is done several times throughout the school year. Then near the end of the year the school throws a Film Festival party! It's a big red carpet event and the entire community comes out for it. In this age of increased technology Merritt seeks to train her students how to use it effectively and responsibly.
